Saturday:) Share a Smile With Amazon Smile

17 Nov

“Sharing a smile doesn’t cost you anything, and can mean so much to someone else.”

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

**************************

I have been so blessed in my life, and one of the many things I learned from my sainted mother is, when you are blessed, you have to share your blessings with others.

If Mom cooked or baked, she would share with neighbors and friends. If she painted note cards or artwork or made some adorable craft, she made dozens, so she could share. Trini was an excellent seamstress, so she made beautiful dolls and knitted scarves, but also volunteered to do mending and hemming for anyone who asked, ( I asked all the time.)

So, when you see all my posts with me taking brownies to the firemen or soup to my neighbors, hmm…I wonder where I got that from?

When I found out that anyone who is an Amazon account member could sign up to have a portion of their sales be donated to a charity of their choice, I quickly signed up. It didn’t cost a thing, and took about three minutes of my time. I’ve been volunteering with the wonderful non-profit called THE BELLA HOUSE that helps, councils, and nurtures young homeless expectant mothers in the North Texas area.

There are so many ways to help, but signing up for Amazon Smile doesn’t cost a thing. My family and some friends have already signed up. If you would consider helping out THE GABRIEL DBA THE BELLA HOUSE, I would be eternally grateful.

When you share a smile, someone up in heaven smiles back, I know.

Thank you. Hugs!

Theme Song Thursday:Smile

30 May

“The road of life is filled with sunshine and clouds, black and white, triumphs and tragedies. As we continue down the road, we decide which things we bring with us, and which we leave in the rear-view mirror.”
― Julie-Anne

I am always in awe of the beauty and majesty of the golden sunlight bursting through the clouds. When I see the glory of nature, I am compelled to take a picture and share it with the world. Today, the sunshine glowing behind this cloud made me see that there is always a silver lining behind each cloud. So, why not smile! “Smile and maybe tomorrow you’ll see the sun come shining through for you.”

“Smile”

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

[instrumental interlude]

That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Saturday:Sharing, Caring and a Smile

21 Dec

A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.

I don’t know if it’s just the holiday season, or the hustle and bustle of the world swirling around me, but I’ve been busier than a horsefly at a rodeo. Everyone seems to be smiling and saying, “Merry Christmas.” I love it!

Today, when I opened up my email, I noticed a coupon from Walgreens for a free 8×10 photo for today only using the coupon code today8x10. So, I quick downloaded a photo of the TOTS from our party on Thursday and in an hour, I’ll be the proud owner of a free enlargement. Of course, aim not running over there in an hour. I’ll get it tomorrow after church. Thus, the sharing, quick…go order a free 8×10. You have until midnight.

We exchanged gifts at our writing group this morning. Mandy had given me a pair of beautiful 1 carat diamond earrings…and they’re REAL? Well, they look real, so they probably are.

Julia gave me a lovely set of two handmade soaps embellished with real fragrance rosebuds. I hung them on my Christmas tree. So beautiful.

Liz brought us each a cute ceramic mug with hot chocolate mix inside, which is perfect, because I detest coffee and adore hot chocolate. My friends know me so well. Thus, the caring.

While I was traipsing around the Square all afternoon, I had a big bag of those little wrapped candy canes on my arm. I passed them out to friends I bumped into and strangers having lunch or walking past me outside. Everyone said , “Thank you, Merry Christmas!” And you know what? Everyone gave me a big smile! PRICELESS!!!!!!!!
