Montage Monday and Another Magnificent Sunset

18 Feb

“A loving heart is a magical magnet for magnificence.”

― Debasish Mridha

I can honestly say that I wake up EVERY morning and greet the day with gratitude. “Thank you for your blessings.” That’s my morning prayer, my waking thoughts, my mantra for the day. Sometimes it is followed by, “Holy crap! I forgot to set my alarm,” or “What a glorious day, I think I’ll roll over and go back to sleep.” But, every day is a good day, some “gooder” than others.

Today, I went to the country dance at the senior center, and had lots of fun. It was our chili cook-off lunch, and there was SO much good food. Afterwards, a few of us stopped for an iced tea at Whataburger. I ended up chatting and laughing and gossiping with some friends for almost three hours. Fun! Then, home to walk the dog again. On my drive home, the sky was so gorgeous. I kept hoping for a red light so I could take a picture, and the only red light ended up with all kinds of telephone poles and streetlights and buildings, blocking the view. So, I hurried home and drove down the street where there was a somewhat unobstructed view. Unfortunately, the original massive expanse of blues and grays mingled with golden hues had mostly disappeared, but I caught the grand finale. It was pretty darn awesome.

My blessings are many

And my troubles are few.

And you would be smiling

If you knew what I knew.

There is no big secret

There’s no fountain of youth.

Simply love who you are

And let that be your truth.

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

Another great week, my friends. How blessed am I!

“Most people dread Mondays because it means back to work or the tedious tasks for the week. On Monday, I like to reflect on the marvelous week that has passed and look forward to the wonderful week ahead.”

That’s what life is for: warm friendships, memorable moments, and beautiful words.”

A wonderful week with more birthday celebrations, lunches, gifts, movies, and time with good friends. A week of counting my blessings.

Then, to add more blessings to my day, I received a text from my friend Lynne. She was inviting a few friends over for an impromptu artsy/craftsy afternoon. She said, to just bring something fun to work on and she would provide refreshments. What a great idea. No time to think or plan. Just grab a few paints, brushes, and unfinished projects. Perfect.

Lynne, Sherri, Sherry, and yours truly. I have he sweetest, most talented friends.

“One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.”

Andy Rooney

I hope you still have a messy living room, with toys, wrapping paper, and holiday decorations strewn everywhere. Sometimes a happy mess is better than a sad tidy room. Savor the holidays while you can.

Another great week with family and friends. I’m still counting my blessings, but unfortunately, I can’t count that high.

Have a marvelous Monday, my friends.

Another exciting busy crazy week with the family. The weather here in the Chicago area has been just beautiful, in the upper 40’s today and more of the same tomorrow. Very unusual for this time of year, and very much appreciated. Everyone has been sick, sniffling, and coughing, including Gamma. But, I think everyone is on the mend. At least I hope so.
