Montage Monday:) A Week In A Peek

20 Aug

“Busy is as busy does. I’m pretty good at doing busy.”

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

I guess you can tell from all the smiles that my wonderful busy life is filled with great friends and a beautiful family.

Happy Monday, my friends.

Tuesday:) Toni’s Montage Monday, Just a Day Late

14 Aug

“How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

― Dr. Seuss

I usually post my montage on Monday because it’s alliterative. I love alliteration. Not, to be confused with illiterative, which is quite a different story and really, there’s no such word. But, yesterday I wanted to share our McKinney Creative Community potluck pictures and story.

Another hot one today. Some of you already know that my air conditioning was acting up and basically blowing around hot air for a weeks. I had Bill Joplin’s AC come out today and put in a brand new AC system in my not quite 5year old house. Crazy! It took those poor young men all day, from 8:30 till around 5 to install it. I have no idea how hot it was in the attic, well over 100. They were drenched when they finished. Well, my house is cool as a Collin County cucumber now. I think I’ll go put on a sweater. (Just kidding)

Here’s a week in a peek…just a day late…

Montage Monday and More

6 Aug

“Time waits for no man. That’s because man is sitting on the sofa watching sports, or yelling at some commercial. Time waits for woman, because she’s making dinner, cleaning the kitchen, feeding the baby, and making sure the kids did their homework and said their prayers after their baths, then tucking them in for the night. Time has to wait.”

~ Unknown… (OK, it was me)

I just threw in that quote because time seems to be slipping away. I’ve been visiting Matt in Venice, CA for a week and I go home soon. The time just flew by. A very fun week with a lot of sight seeing, great vegan food, sunshine, entertainment, Sunday morning Mass, museums, walking, perfect weather, FaceTime with grand babies, and the very best part… spending quality time with my youngest son. He’s my knight in shining armor.

A week in a peek…

Yesterday after church and the Norton Simon Museum, Matt took me to an Italian restaurant that had vegan pizza. Seriously, it was delicious. I may not switch to a total vegetarian or vegan, but I’m going to give it about 90%.

For my penance, I had pizza in Purgatory. That was the name of the pizza place. Pretty appropriate for Sunday after church.

Happy Monday, my friends.

“One of the best ways to make yourself happy in the present is to recall happy times from the past. Photos are a great memory-prompt, and because we tend to take photos of happy occasions, they weight our memories to the good.”

~Gretchen Rubin

Another fine week. So many friends, so much to do, and so little time.

A week in a peek.

“Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.”

― Anthony G. Oettinger

(I thought this was funny, but it took me a couple of seconds to get it.)

Another fine week filled with good friends, good food, and lots of other stuff.

“There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still.”

~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

A wonderful week here in north Texas. It’s gettin’ hot, but it is Texas, after all. No standing still, always keeping busy and moving forward.

“And as the years have passed, the time has grown longer. The sad truth is that what I could recall in five seconds all too needed ten, then thirty, then a full minute – like shadows lengthening at dusk. Someday, I suppose, the shadows will be swallowed up in darkness.”

― Haruki Murakami

July rolled in like a lion and most likely will roll out like a lion. Summer in Texas is living up to its spicy hot weather reputation. But, we were blessed with a lovely mild Spring, so we can’t complain. Well yes, we can complain! That’s what people in Texas do every summer.

It was a great week with friends, 4th of July, art, music, dancing and singing, and of course, beautiful photos of the grand babies that keep me going till I can hold them in person.

Happy Monday, my friends.
