Saturday:) Some Silly Sidewalk Chalk Art

9 Jun

“Art is wonderful and forever, even if it is a simple chalk drawing on the sidewalk or a masterpiece in a museum.”

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

I know, I know! I got in trouble a few months ago for taking pictures of chalk art on the sidewalk on my walk. The home owner thought I was an HOA employee who was documenting violations when she saw me on her ring doorbell camera. There were all kinds of negative comments on the neighborhood communication app. A few people responded and said it was just Miss Toni who was probably admiring the artwork. I saw the post and went over to the house meet the lady whose child had drawn the photos. She apologized and took down the post. But, all my neighbors and friends who knew me had a good laugh. Even my next-door neighbor, a police officer, saw me out walking the next day said, “Now, don’t be out there taking any pictures of chalk art.”

Well, I didn’t listen. I don’t follow directions well.

Look how beautiful these are. I couldn’t resist. I found a little piece of chalk left on the side and responded.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Theme Song Thursday:) My House

“If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with.”

― L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

While I was on my walk today, I saw the cutest little house drawn on the sidewalk with chalk. Obviously, the young artist loved his or her house, and wanted to share the drawing wih the world. That’s what artists do. It made me think of my house. I love my house, my neighborhood, and my many friends.

My house is a very, very fine house, with no cats in the yard, life used to be so hard….
