“Friends that share their art, share their heart.”

This morning was our August Art Club of McKinney meeting at The Hub. We’ve been off for the summer, so it was great to see old familiar faces, some new faces, and some amazing artwork. Our August meeting is always our fun “Show and Tell” meeting, where each member brings one or two or a few of their recent artworks to share with the group. We describe the pieces, talk about techniques, and answer any question. Everyone leaves so inspired. Wow! We have some fantastic artists.

Here’s what I brought. A couple of painted glass vases and my 3-D butterfly painting done with only coffee.

After the inspirational meeting, a few of us walked over to Rick’s Chophouse for lunch.

Then, we walked over to The Last Gallery, that is now a super cool artist cooperative gallery, featuring our talented local artists. Then to visit Kim Guthrie at her studio around the corner.

If you’re around the Square this weekend, it’s Second Saturday. Kim’s studio on Virginia will be open all day and a lot of her cool and funky pieces will be featured at The Wine Merchant across the street from her studio. The Last Gallery on Louisiana is a must see stop, too.

You know what’s better than having good friends? Having good friends that are amazing artists that inspire and support and share their talent and love. Love you guys!
