Saturday:) Finding Treasures at Trade Days

My friend Allison invited me to join her for a treasure hunt today at McKinney’s Third Monday Trade Days just down the road from us. I haven’t been there in a couple three years, so it was long over due. Allison finds amazing bargains and turns them into works of art, mostly wonderful yard art. My backyard is pretty much naked, except for my one painted horses fence section that I put out there last year.

We left around 9am and walked, scoured, investigated, collapsed, and wandered some more until after 1 pm, with only three trips back to the car to load up stuff. It was a pleasant breezy overcast morning, but that didn’t last long. It’s Texas after all. But, it was fun hunting for treasures.

We probably would have lingered longer, but we both have bum knees and neither of us had eaten all day. Also, we were running low on cash and stamina. I plum forgot I was going to make a final stop and buy a cook ukulele. Oh well. Next time.

Here are a few of my treasures. There are a couple of other big ones in the garage that I’m too lazy to go out and take a picture of.

This cool thing I put right out back on my outdoor table. Fits perfectly. Not sure what it is, but I just had to have it.

My favorite find was this old rustic cross. I collect crosses and I love red. This is perfect for my kitchen. Love it!

Allison and I stopped for a quick late lunch at Pep’s Tacos Y Mas, then home. I walked the dog then we took a nice long well needed nap.

Happy Saturday my friends.
