Saturday:) Sunshine and Sunsets

“A sunset is the sun’s fiery kiss to the night.”

It was another beautiful sunny day after a pretty rough storm over night. A beautiful calm after the storm. The perfect day for a long walk. Last week I walked with three layers of coats, a hat and gloves, with temperatures below freezing. Today, I wore sunglasses and a t-shirt, walking over 3 1/2 miles. Welcome to Texas.

The Bradford Pear trees are in full blossom around the neighborhood. They are gorgeous, but I was thinking that I was kind of happy that I didn’t have one in my yard. Looks like they make a big mess when all those blossoms fall.

I walked in the late afternoon, stopping at Miss Sandy and Mr. Larry’s garage for a beer and conversation. Time to catch up on neighborhood gossip. On the way home, the sun was starting to make its brilliant colorful descent. My favorite time of day. It was sunset time. Time to chase the sunset.

The last few blocks walking home, in the stillness of the night, the oranges and golden yellows faded into grey. A sliver of moon rose above the wispy streaks of dark clouds. The moonlight guided me home.

Happy Saturday. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward tonight…
