Sunday Sermon and Red Sox/Rangers Game

7 May

“Love one another and help others to rise to the higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy.”

A beautiful sunny Sunday. This morning at Mass, about twenty beautiful children made their First Communion. Just seeing those bright angelic faces, so serious and devout, was just delightful,

Today’s Gospel was Jesus telling his disciples that we should all love one another.

This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.

No one has greater love than this,

to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

You are my friends if you do what I command you…

so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.

This I command you: love one another.”

My take on it…Jesus tells us that we must love one another, but also follow all His commandments. If we follow these guidelines and lead a good life, we will be in God’s favor. I do believe that God has looked out for me, so it must be working.

After church, I was looking forward to a fun day with friends. Linda Grossman, World’s Greatest Realtor, (have I mentioned that before? Ha!) invited me and a couple of friends to the Ranger’s baseball game. We had a great time. The Rangers lost to he Red Sox, but we were having a great day.

After the game, there was a concert. Josh Abbott Band performed. They are a Texas Country band. I certainly am expanding my Texas horizons,

The only song I recognized was “The stars at night are big and bright….deep in the heart of Texas.” But, I can appreciate all music. It was fun Country toe-tapping music.

I had a fun day, plus I made a couple of new friends.
