Friday Friends and Silver Linings

5 Apr

We all want to do something to mitigate the pain of loss or to turn grief into something positive, to find a silver lining in the clouds. But I believe there is real value in just standing there, being still, being sad.

Today was another good day. I went for a double walk this morning, ran errands, popped into Papa Murphy’s Pizza to say hi and get hugs from my friends Karri and Justin, started a big pot of beef stew for my senior art group, (took a little stew back over to Justin because he said it sounded good), then off to Towne Creek. Krys was back from the Kingdom and stopped by to visit. She baked a beautiful cake for us, only to find out it was her birthday. We sang and ate cake, ate stew, and ate more cake. ( you can never have too much cake)

Happy Birthday Krys

It was still sunny when I got home, so I decided to get in another walk. Stopped by my neighbor Vicki’s house and we walked two times around. Came home and made some calls, and man… It’s almost 10 pm…where did the day go?

Yesterday’s storm was scary, but here is a picture of the “silver lining” that I captured before the skies wreaked havoc on McKinney and north Texas. Sometimes it’s OK to stand still and be sad, but then again, it’s good to know that every dark cloud has a silver lining.
